We first built a cow shade enough to house 5 cows
based on village standards, but then realized that they do need more space, if
good hygiene is to be maintained. Now according to village standards we
have extended the shade to house 15 cows, which we will only house 6 cows. The
above shades are the old size, and the ones below is the new size.

Now we have two cows, one producing about 10 liters of milk per day after
feeding its calf, and the other one will take another 5 months before it has a
calf, after which it will provide milk. We are also looking to buy another three
cows, for which you the reader can help.

We started off with 14 chicken and 4 roosters, but now, with
wild cats and stray dogs around we have lost 1 rooster and 4 hen. Some of the
hens have hatched, all together 32 chicken. Since non of us are farmers, we
thought buying 14 chicken will give us 14 eggs per day, and that is not true, as
all of them did not lay eggs at the same time. Now it look like all of this will
take time, and once we are fully running, then we may be able to distribute the
eggs to the village kids.
New up-date-Now we have 11 ducks and they seem to produce
more eggs then the hen. April 14,2005
