The Sculptor and Sculpture
The Maha Vidyas are the sculptors of the macrocosm and the
microcosm, we are thankful to them to inspire us with the task to sculpture them
and share their teachings with you. What is done here can be done in your local
area. With the materials available in the west, the quality of the sculptures
can look divine.
With the start of the year, we employed a very good sculptor to sculpture the
Maha Vidyas. Each step of his work will be posted regularly for all to see, how
they evolve, especially ideal for art students in the west, and those who like
to explore the Maha Vidyas, all the page posted and yet to be posted will help.
Our Master who is a lover of art is working closely with the
sculptor to bring to all a very alive sculpture with the anatomy of the Goddess
given special attention. In south India many modern sculptures mainly the
Goddess are not realism oriented, or are more dream version and they also work
with gloss paint for long life. Although they are beautiful, but sometime not
realistic. We are trying to create realistic sculptures, so that the meditator
has a more realistic image of the Goddess to meditate on
When One worships, any of the Maha Vidyas One is worshiping the Supreme Mother.
Mother Kali is there to teach us about time, and Mother Sundari helps One to
realize that Desire is the prime mover, like that all the Goddess have their
precise role. With each discipline, One realizes a particular facet of the
Supreme Mother. Realizing one aspect of the Supreme does not preclude the
realization of others. Realization of one wisdom makes the knowledge of all the
other Goddess easily available and in the course of times a realization of the
macrocosm, thus realizing the microcosm, the self.
