My family enjoying my company, may be I make them laugh!!
My Indian Family,
Since I was born I have never been short of attention, I am always in the middle
of everything.
I have a much extended family if I may say so.
When I first arrived at mommy and daddy’s house many ladies from the village
came to take a look at me, admiring my fair skin and my size!
In the beginning I had two nannies taking care of me whenever
mommy was asleep recovering from the operation. They and my dady had to carry me
around for hours before I fell asleep.
I had to cry quit a bit the first couple of weeks before they got the message
that I was hungry even after drinking my mommy’s breast. When finally they
understood my frustrated and angry crying and gave me a bottle I changed my
attitude into a very sweet and adorable little baby
Now
I have Solotsna who takes care of me so that my mommy can do some other work.
Solotsna is the best, every morning we make tea together and I help her cook
dinner in the afternoon…. She is the best in putting me to sleep in my cradle in
the temple and I listen very carefully when she is talking to me in Tamil.
Of
course all my big brothers are there, and especially Vinoth who carries me
around and plays with me whenever he has the opportunity.
People are very natural with little children here and whenever I go out there
are people who want to hold me and talk to me. At times there are so many that I
cry out for my mom or dad, I know they are never far away!.
Everybody gives my mom advice what she should or should not do with me…..and she
just smiles.
Whenever
I see a new face I first examine them very careful and then when I like what I
see I give a very loving smile and pull their hair, works always in getting
attention!
At night when my mom and dad and my big brothers are eating together in the
other house, one of my big brothers will always come and check if I am still
asleep.
And one time they even made their homework outside my room so that they would be
there if I started to cry.
There is the priest who comes here every morning doing Puja in our temple.
He plays and talks to me while we are cooking the pongal.
When he starts his Puja I like to be there so that I can silently fall asleep
listening to the mantras.
I adore Saravanan my big brother who drives our car! When ever I go out in the
car he makes sure that he drives very careful so that I can fall asleep. Above
that he gave me my first golden ring so that I look even more pretty!
Elango who takes care of the cows is great, he always makes me smile when I am
sitting in my chair in the kitchen helping Solotsna cook.
The kitchen is my favorite spot (besides my mom’s breast of course).
There is always something happening there and people to talk to and new faces to
meet.
I prefer being in the middle there in my walker-chair so that I have a good
overview.
Whenever I think they don’t pay enough attention to me I make my self noticeable
by screaming out loud, then there is always somebody who gives me the attention
I deserve!
Then there is Mr. Singh and the Tamil teacher, they are very sweet, however I
don’t like them pinching my cheek and talk very loud to me!
Whenever there are children from the village coming my mom allows them to hold
me for a while.
I look at their smiling faces carefully but most of the time I am more
interested in their color full cloths.
You see I have a huge and very caring Indian family!!
I am a lucky little Goddess!
